And be steadfast in prayer and regular
in charity: and whatever good you send
forth for your souls before you, you
shall find it with Allah; for Allah sees
well all that you do.¡i2¡G110¡j

Preparations before Prayers
There are six conditions
which must be fulfilled before performing
prayers:
1.
Ablution, or purification of
body:
The body must be cleaned from Al-Wudhu
(minor ablution), and Al-Ghusul (major
ablution). However, if one is sick and
it is not convenient to use water or no
water is available, he can use Tayammum (dry
ablution) instead.

2. Purity of
place:
Prayers must be performed in a clean
place. ¡i2¡G125¡j
3. Purity of
clothing:
The body must be properly covered with
clean clothing.
¡i74¡G4¡jFor
man, from navel down to below knee. For woman,
from head to feet other than hands and face.
4. Facing
towards the Ka¡¦abah:
We should face the Ka¡¦abah when offering
prayer. Those who are traveling on ships or
vehicles and those who are unable to determine
the direction can pray with the intention of
facing the Ka¡¦abah.
¡i2¡G144¡A149-150¡j
5. Intention to
pray (Niyyat):
One must begin with
intention.
6. To be on
time:
Prayers must be
performed within the stipulated time as
specified in the Holy Qu¡¦an
